Long time no see

Hey All! It's been a while, sorry about that. Since we have created this site we have seen several imitation sites appear. That's cool, but the sharing your best story is OUR idea! lol

Anyways sorry it's been so long since any kind of an update or site improvement. Eric and I have been SUPER busy. Eric is currently in a year long almost 40 hour a week internship while taking 2 classes at Marshall to finish up his major. I've since graduated Penn State with my B.S. and I'm now in my second semester getting a masters degree at U Pitt, also very busy.

We have not forgotten the site, and we hope you haven't either! We plan on working on something new. It's going to be big for the site!

Crazy Few Weeks

Well it's been a crazy few weeks. I've had tons of projects going on at school, and tons of other stuff to do outside of school. With my up and coming graduation I've been attempting to get into grad schools. I've also been studing for the FE exam next weekend. Hopefully that works out well.

In addition to all that I've been tempted to get a netbook of some sort, probably a HP netbook. It turns out that my roommate got one over last summer so he is letting me try one out before I just go out and buy one, dropping about $350 on one. I really like it. The only two issues I'm running into is that the keyboard is a little cramped (which my fingers could get used to) and I keep bumping the track pad so every once in a while the cursor will jump to another section of the screen and select something. Other than those 2 little things it's not bad. One other thing that I've been noticing is that it keeps inserting text into random text boxes. I think that is an issue with the build of linux that my roommate has on here though.

Welp probably relaxing a little tonight and then work again tomorrow.

BS

Well I just got banned from a message board because I posted a link to
some copyrighted material. It wasn't a download it was a stream and I
didn't set the site up. I'm not too broke up over it though cause it
was a really badly put together board full of trolers. Good riddance.

Long Long Drive

Let me just tell you, driving more than 7 hours sucks. I've only driven more than 7 hours a few times, but it sucked each time. I've ridden in a car for long periods of time before, but yesterday I decided to drive from Erie to Huntington, while making a stop off in Pittsburgh. It sucked. Not only was I alone in the car, I had no cell service to keep me from going crazy because I was in the mountains most of the time. I started my drive at about 11am Friday and by 1 I was in Pittsburgh. On the drive I had actually passed Meadeville and had to turn around and go back to get gas for my Truck (Ford F-150 Red). After that I had to unload all my stuff I was bringing home and then head out to go visit Eric. Well I ended up driving down, getting off the road almost every hour to use the rest room, and not getting in until after 7pm. The reason behind this was the fact that there was a 4 car pileup in Charelston WV. Not fun.

Anyways I'm here and safe and don't have to leave till Monday. Spring Break Rules!

LOL-Lesson On Life #1:

Procrastinating is awesome. I mean why spend an entire week doing something when you can just do it for one night right before it’s due. What could go wrong?

LOL- Lesson On Life #2: Always trust the fat chef.

LOL- Lesson On Life #3: Don’t eat expired Hostess products. Seriously, don’t.

LOL- Lesson On Life #4: They say do what you love, but that is just because they want to take the jobs where you actually make money.

Long Week and It's Only Tuesday

Well it's been a long week and it's only Tuesday. Let's see... This weekend I had to work on tons and tons of Sr. Project stuff so I can graduate in 2 months. Then Monday came along. One top of working that day, I also had to run out to petco to get crickets for my Bearded Dragon. Then I had to come back and practice for a presentation today. Finally I also had classes that day. After all of that I was ready to go to bed and I heard sirens. Turns out my schools dining hall was on fire and had burnt down.

Today, I had my Sr. Design presentation, which my group got a B to B+ on. I also had to work, go to class, and tell my parents about the fire and explain to my mother for the 100th time how Tuesdays are my crazy days.

The good things thus far are this:
I got to flurt for most of one of my classes with a hot girl.
I found out the reCaptcha is working.
All I have left is a stupid little project due Friday.
And I am going down to hang out with Eric this weekend and hopefully get the site cleaned up.

That's about all for now. Later!

Trying something new

First off I want to say HECK YES!

Now everyone might be a little confused as to why I would say that. Well let me put it this way. My name's Mike and I'm the coder behind this website. Eric came up with the site idea I coded it. Well I was having a H3ll of a time blocking bots from posting.

You all never saw the bot posts but they were there... always posting. Se the way the site is set up is that when you submit a story it gets stored in a temporary MySQL data bank. I would then have to go through, read the stories and transfer them from that temp database to the good database. With the 50+ bot posts a week, it was enough to drive anyone insane. So much so that between that and my grandparents untimely deaths this past August I just gave up on the site. When I came back about 3 months after I had stopped cleaning that temp database it had over 1000 bot posts in it. I cleared it all out and we are starting fresh with reCAPTCHA enabled (something I had fought with months ago and never gotten to work). Hopefully this will cut down on or eliminate the bots that are posting to the site.

Anyways now that I explained that let me also say that this is the first of something new, hence the Title: "Trying something new". At Eric's request... (One of his easier requests) we have decided to go through and add a blog onto our site. We will be posting to this blog atleast once a week starting today to keep you all up to date with current thoughts, and possible "to come" things for the site. Hopefully this will make it more enjoyable for all of you out there.

Well I think I have rambled on long enough, so farewell for now.
